Taizé

Periodically Ward Parkway Presbyterian Church offers a Taizé service during Sunday morning worship services or in the evening.

What is a Taizé service?

Taizé is a style of Christian worship practiced by the ecumenical Taizé community in France that began in the ’40s by Roger Louis Schutz-Marsauche (known as 'Brother Roger'). It is characterized by the congregation singing repetitive scriptural chants, interspersed with readings, prayers, and periods of silence.

During this peaceful, contemplative service, attendees are invited to light candles and offer prayers for their personal concerns, as well as for the greater good and world.
