What time: In-person worship services are held in the Sanctuary on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. (except for the summers between Memorial Day and Labor Day when it is 10:00 a.m.).
What do I wear? We recommend “comfortable”. That can mean anything from jeans to joggers or suits and ties. You decide.
What about the kids? Childcare is available for children 5 and under in a staffed nursery. Older children are welcome to join you in worship.
Youth Participation: Youth at WPPC participate in services periodically such as the Youth Sunday program.
Where to enter: The Mercier and Ward Parkway entrances are closest to the sanctuary. There are 3 steps to the entrance. There is a ramp at a second door on the Mercier side. The entrance from the south parking lot has no steps but it is a longer walk to the sanctuary.
Accessibility: There is a ramp entrance on the Mercier side of the church building. There are no steps at the south entrance from the parking lot. The second floor is accessible by an elevator at the south entrance. There are handicapped parking spots near the south entrance.
Parking: There are two parking lots – one on the north end of the building at the corner of Ward Parkway and 74th street (enter off of 74th Street or Mercier Street) and a second at the south end of the building (enter off Mercier Street).
Which lot do I choose: The north parking lot is closer to the sanctuary. Enter at the doors in the middle of the building and turn left. The south parking lot is closer to the Ward Parkway Preschool. Enter at the door under the portico and the office will be on your right past the elevator.
What to expect at a Sunday morning worship service:
We follow a traditional order of service, grounded in the Reformed tradition, that lasts about an hour and includes:
Welcome and announcements
Responsive readings
Congregational singing with the choir, piano, and organ accompaniment
Congregational prayers; silent prayers
Anthem presented by the Chancel Choir
Bible-based lesson lasting about 20 minutes
When is it over? Worship services end with a musical postlude at about 11:30 am.
After Worship Fellowship: Join us for coffee and treats in the parlor adjacent to the sanctuary. We’d love to visit for a while!
Communion is offered on the first Sunday of the month or by request for those unable to attend in-person services.
